Sydney Royal News 2009 Once again great job team!! Belated news Well we have been out of circulation lately due to our car accident back at it again now. Our first show for 2009 was Moss Vale to which we took Bamborough Paramount and Woranora Cherokee. Paramount was shown by John Stiphout in the Welsh ring and as always this combination proved to be the winning team being Judged Supreme Led Welsh Exhibit of Show, Parry was then very ably shown by my son Scott in the Palomino ring to be judged Champion Led Palomino. Woranora Cherokee shown by Melanie Bolwell won his ridden Section A Gelding class. Our next outing was to be Castle Hill Show here Paramount was shown by Kerry Stiphout in both led & ridden events, this was Parry’s first outing under saddle since December, Kerry did a great job as Parry was quite full of himself when being ridden but Kerry got his mind on the job. This combination gained Champion Led Section B Stallion, Champion Led Palomino Stallion, Best Ridden Open Stallion of Show, 1st Ridden Palomino Stallion and Champion Ridden Welsh Exhibit, not too shabby considering he had only two rides before the show. Great Job Team!!!
October 2008 Cimarron Fenesse gave birth today (29/10/08) to a beautiful colt. He's by the Australian Stock Horse Stallion Joshua John. We're ecstatic to have such a stunning foal on the ground. See the Gallery for photos of our pride and joy. - - - We had a very successful 2008 NSW All Welsh Show. Not only did Paramount win Best Welsh of the Show (thanks must go to John Stiphout for showing him so beautifully) he also gained Reserve Champion Ridden Welsh Stallion ridden by Joanne Parry, who had only stepped on him on Saturday and did a wonderful job. Thanks Jo! Woranora Cherokee with Melanie Bolwell also had a very good show winning Champion Ridden Welsh Child's Pony Rider 13 & under 18yrs, Best Junior Handler 13 to 16yrs & was awarded 2nd in Ridden Gelding of Section A Breeding which was a huge class. - - - Picton Show was successful for us this year with Paramount attending Saturday. First up was his palomino class, Greg Shepard very kindly agreed to show him as my leg is still not up to running. Parry won his class and was champion stallion or colt then went on to win Supreme Champion Palomino Exhibit. His Welsh classes were on after lunch where he went on to win Supreme Welsh Exhibit, this time run out by Amanda Channery. Also for the welsh classes we took Woranora Cherokee (Mickey) who was very ably shown by Melanie Bolwell. Mel rides for us and was showing Woranora Nadia before she went in foal. Mickey was awarded Reserve Champion Led Section A and 3rd in Open Ridden Welsh Gelding Sections A,B,C & D (he was the first placed Sec A). Jade competed at Picton on the Sunday winning both her Show Hunter Pony Classes on Fernbrook Break of Day. Jade also rode Kerry & John Stiphout's ASH Gelding Lone Pine McKenzie to win A.S.H. Horse Ridden by Rider 17 Years and under. Paramount shown by Scott in his led classes at Bowral Spring Horse Show was awarded Champion Led Palomino and Champion Led Welsh Sec B Stallion or Colt. For his saddle classes Jade rode him where the combination won Champion Ridden Palomino and 1st in Ridden Welsh Stallion. Jade rode Woranora Cherokee to be awarded Reserve Champion Ridden Welsh Gelding. We took both Bamborough Paramount and Woranora Cherokee to Blacktown Spring Show where Parry gained Champion Led Welsh Sec B Exhibit, Champion Led Palomino Stallion and Reserve Champion Led ASP Stallion or Colt ably shown by Scott. Jade competed with Cherokee being awarded Champion Led Welsh Gelding and winning his ridden class. - - - NSJ has been lucky enough to have the chance of getting back Cimarron Curtain Call (CC) who is the first foal out of Cimarron Finesse (Heatherbrae Master Aladdin (iiu) x Flaming Beauty SOD Tarnassus) by Cimarron Minstrels Breeze (Pinnaroo Oran x Kylangra Kathryn SOD Chip Chase Glenrowan). This will enable us to continue producing quality part welsh saddle ponies/galloways. Cimarron Fenesse has had an outstanding show career being twice NSW Galloway OTY, Champion Galloway at Canberra Royal, twice Champion Led Light Hack Sydney Royal as well as Champion Ridden Light Hack Sydney Royal. Upon retiring to stud to date she has had three fillies & a colt which has been retained by us for Jade to show under saddle next season as a three year old. His name is NSJ Nicholas Nickleby by the very well bred Section B Welsh stallion Fernbrook Merriman (Downland Helmsmen (imp) x Dalmarron Beeswing SOD Penwood Bodine (imp)) who had only a short but successful show career before retiring to stud. Cimarron Fenesse is currently in foal to the Australian Stock Horse Stallion Joshua John who is a grandson of Living Good (ASB) and has the most wonderful temperament and trainability. Fenesse is due end of October 2008. Also due to foal this season is Fernbrook Glory Bee (Carolinas Cat's Whiskers (imp) x Dalmarron Beeswing SOD Penwood Bodine (imp)) who is in foal to Bamborough Paramount. Last season she produced a beautiful part welsh colt foal Fernbrook Will Bee by Paramount. Will Bee has been sold to the Ashbolt family who have already had him out to his first show where he gained Champion Part Welsh Gelding. Overdue for weaning this month is the liver chestnut colt foal NSJ Caleb who is an out of season foal by Fernbrook Merriman and out of another home bred mare Cimarron Fine Art (Cimarron Minstrels Breeze x Cimarron Enticing Lady SOD Pendock Silver Eagle (imp)).She has never been shown due to an accident as a foal and she is currently running with Merriman again this season. Fernbrook Stud who predominately breed Australian Stock Horses have two mares due to foal to Paramount this season these being their very successful riding pony mare Fernbrook Sillouhette (Heatherbrae Master Aladdin (iiu) x Fernbrook Honey Glow) and Fernbrook I Dee Clare (Downland Helmsmen (imp) x Fernbrook Honey Glow) both of these foals are eagerly awaited. - - - September 2008 This September saw Nicolette purchase Bamborough Paramount (Parry) from Helen Dohan of Woranora Stud. Nicolette has been showing Parry for the last two years on Helens behalf.
